EnviroSTONE uses an environmentally friendly, organic binder to join the fines of crushed stone together with its larger particles. Water activates the binder, which swells into a glue-like gel. After saturation, the stone will harden to minimize erosion and weed infestation while giving the strength needed in your joints or base.

EnviroSTONE will flex with the settling of the ground or frost movement to prevent cracking; a common problem found in concrete mortar joints. Because the EnviroSTONE is reusable, you will be able to easily remove it whenever needed. It does not need to be a permanent structure and can actually be used elsewhere in the future. In extreme conditions where damage may occur, it will actually heal itself with the next rainfall.

Because of its larger particles of aggregate, the EnviroSTONE has a much greater integral strength than any sand and is therefore scientifically designed for a larger joint application. Unlike other synthetic or “Polymeric” materials, EnviroSTONE (because of its Organic Binder) can actually re-heal itself. In conditions where cracking or movement may occur, the onset of water, heals the stone dust and continually molds itself back to the shape of the joint.

With a strong focus on research, Envirobond has developed the newest innovation in Stabilizing Jointing material by adding a natural weed deterrent to our products. This weed deterrent additive works by attaching itself to the organic binder (to prevent leaching), while its components make for an unfavourable growing medium for nuisance weeds. Along with the weed deterrence comes an increased strength for increased longevity. By retaining its self-healing nature, Envirobond has developed a product that is absolutely ideal for segmental systems designed for movement. This newest innovation is patent pending technology stemming directly from government assisted research in the EnviroLab.

Coverage rates for EnviroSTONE will be dependent on the joint size and depth. However, the following is a model that can be used as a guideline:
